Uninstalling Win2k/Win98 Dual boot
This is a discussion about Uninstalling Win2k/Win98 Dual boot in the Windows Software category; I just got an email telling me that BeOS has been released for free. I am looking to do a dual boot with Win98 and Be instead of Win98 and Win2k. I installed Win98 1st, then Win2k on another hard drive.
I just got an email telling me that BeOS has been released for free. I am looking to do a dual boot with Win98 and Be instead of Win98 and Win2k. I installed Win98 1st, then Win2k on another hard drive. Should I just format the drive with Win2k? or will that mess up a boot sector? Maybe I need to look at my boot.ini?
Thanks in advance

Why do you want to do that? If you think you have problems with Win 2k then wait until you go to Beos. Why not boot Win2k and Beos instead?

OP
Well i would but Rainbow6 doesn't want to work under Win2k and thats my game I NEED to play every day.

You could format the win2k drive and then use bootpart to remove the win2k bootsector. Its around here somewhere. I got it from win2kbox.cjb.net. Or you could try reinstalling win98 on top of itself and that should do the trick also. THat way all your program files will stay in place. But you might need to update again.
Be will install from a folder in win 2k then restart in be,there is no need for a separate
partition.
