Upgrade Mobo and CPU
This is a discussion about Upgrade Mobo and CPU in the Windows Hardware category; I currently have an Abit be6 running a Celeron 400. I plan to upgrade to an Abit VP6 and (2) P3 700's. I would like to know if there are any issues i should take into consideration? (click on custombox to see my setup) Thanks Ancker Jade.

None, go for it ... it's a whole different world with 2 CPU's. Oh yea, don't expect it to be much faster than a single 700 mhz ... it will only help out with programs that take advantage of it (Quake 3, Photoshope ...)

OP
Will Windows 2000 Pro automatically turn on multiple CPU support? Or do i have to set it up somewhere?
if you run the install, then yes, it will automatically use both cpu's. if you don't re-install, then you need to change the driver. Go to device manager, open "computer catagory", and open the system driver there. go to the driver tab, and click update driver. go next, choose display a list of drivers, choose show all hardware of this class. now choose one of the multiprocessor choices.
