This is a discussion about UT + SBLive (Dell drivers) = sound distortion in the Windows Games category; Anyone else getting sound distortion in UT with Dell's drivers? Didn't happen with the Basic drivers, nor Live!Ware 3. 0, but with Dell's drivers it does. Makes the game almost unplayable. Any ideas?.

I get intermittent distortions that occur once every 5-10 seconds and that last about 2 seconds. Games are still playable, but it's very annoying. I read in someone else's message reporting similar problems, that moving your card to a different pci slot will fix it. Don't know why the pci slot should matter, but it's worth a try. I just haven't had time to try it yet.
What hardware version is your live card? Make sure to use Josef's INF file here on site. The dell one will default to the live value and I had distortion problems with the dell one.
Try turning down your volume in your sblvie mixer. It cleared up all the q3 distortion I was experienceing.
