Vcd problems

This is a discussion about Vcd problems in the Windows Software category; I cant play some of the vcd i have. I had the same problem before(mci) but i used xing player or jet audio and they worked in 98. Now even with Xing i get the same error msg. Any ideas?i looked in the microsoft site btw and they say that they have droped mci and use dshow something like that.

I have use XingMPEG to watch VCD before on Win2K. Version 3.30, it ran without problem.
I am not sure about other version.
