very long boot

This is a discussion about very long boot in the Windows Hardware category; Hello, since I've Installed a dvd-rom with a holywood+, win2k is very slow to boot ( 5 minutes ) any idea ? thanks for your replies

Hello,

no my dvd is master on the second ide
 
PS : everything works fine under windows 98

Hmm... Could we be looking at an IRQ conflict here to..? I mean, since it wrkin in 98. Or maybe some driver is not 100% Win2k compatible.

Which bus speed are you running? When i switches from 66Mhz -> 83Mhz I experienced the same slow bootup. After disabling dma on my harddisks the bootup times went back to normal again.
