VIA MVP3 and irq routing, floppydrive and com ports...

This is a discussion about VIA MVP3 and irq routing, floppydrive and com ports... in the Windows Hardware category; Is there a fix to prevent the via mvp3 putting three pci devices on the same interupt. In win98 there is a patch fo this. However a quick look in the win2000 (RC1) registry shows that PnP has DisableFirmwareWrapper enabled (1), also in PCIIrqRouting the code 0F refers to a toshiba type board.

Is there a fix to prevent the via mvp3 putting three pci devices on the same interupt. In win98 there is a patch fo this. However a quick look in the win2000 (RC1) registry shows that "PnP" has "DisableFirmwareWrapper" enabled (1), also in "PCIIrqRouting" the code 0F refers to a toshiba type board. Changing this to the correct code for the via mvp chpset, (b)ie 11, and enabling the firmwarewrapper makes no difference after restarting.
Are there any other ways of forceing the correct Irq miniport?

I have a LS120 which works fine, so i have the floppy disabled in bios. So why does the device page insist in a red X on the Floppy disk drive which doesn't exist?

Does anybody know why my PC (Win2K v2072) has com 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 are unavailable? Is this for Debug purposes?
