VIA USB and W2k
This is a discussion about VIA USB and W2k in the Windows Hardware category; Does anyone know how to get USB support under W2k RC3 and VIA based chipsets? I have an EPOX MVP3 motherboard. The strange thing is, when installing W2k the mouse worked fine. Then after the install I get VIA USB Unsupported under the USB Devices.

Does VIA have a beta driver for this?

Via isnt releasing any drivers until win2k is officially released. Or so it says on there site.

www.via.com.tw/drivers/index.htm
go to Device Manager
Double click on the VIA Unsupported USB Controller
Go to the Driver tab
Click Update Driver, then click Next
Show a list of devices instead of searching
Choose the VIA USB Universal Host, click Next
Go through that crap then reboot.
All set!
If you happen to get any blue screening after enabling this device, you have the old VIA chipset that win2K doesn't like. you're out of luck then and need to disable it. win2K automatically disables the VIA USB just in case you might have an old set.
