Voodoo2 problems in UT and Quake3
This is a discussion about Voodoo2 problems in UT and Quake3 in the Windows Games category; I am suffering from periodic lockups in UT and Quake3. The games will play fine for an hour or so then suddenly lock up hard and I will have to reboot. Nothing gets me out of this lockup not even Ctrl Alt Delete.
I am suffering from periodic lockups in UT and Quake3. The games will play fine for an hour or so then suddenly lock up hard and I will have to reboot. Nothing gets me out of this lockup not even Ctrl Alt Delete. During the lockup the screen freezes and the music hangs in a loop. Anyone else have this problem? Here are my specs :
win 2000 build 2195
Abit BM6 with Celeron 500 128 meg RAM
Diamond Monster voodoo2 (Anthony Toste dvr)
SndBaster Live Value (default dvr)
Both Quake3 and UT have the latest patches
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sound like it overheating take case cover off see that help

OP
Well, it doesn't seem to be a heat issue.
Taking off the cover doesn't help.
I'm not overclocking the processor or video.
I have 3 fans in my case.
I never had this problem until win2k.
Could it be driver related? What are the best drivers and installation procedures for the Voodoo2 under win2k? Is anyone else having Voodoo2 problems. I would run out and buy a Voodoo3 if I had 80 bucks to burn.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
