Vortex 2 / MX300 / Xitel Storm Platnium running in SMP mode
This is a discussion about Vortex 2 / MX300 / Xitel Storm Platnium running in SMP mode in the Windows Hardware category; Dying to hear if Aureal or Microsoft finally solved the Vortex 2 driver problem with a PC in Windows 2000 running in SMP mode. I want to go back to my Xitel Storm Platnium so I can route sound out to my stereo receiver as I desire.
Dying to hear if Aureal or Microsoft finally solved the Vortex 2 driver problem with a PC in Windows 2000 running in SMP mode. I want to go back to my Xitel Storm Platnium so I can route sound out to my stereo receiver as I desire... but that means going back to the Vortex 2 sound card that made Windows 2000 go bad in SMP mode.

It works for some people and not for others. I'm one of the ones in which it doesn't work. I contacted Aureal tech support and they got back to me today and told me that final drivers will be posted when Win 2000 hits store shelves. An SMP fix will also be available in 2 weeks.
