web cams

This is a discussion about web cams in the Windows Hardware category; do web cams work in win 2k? i cant find anything on any manufatures pages. im planning on buying but thought i better make sure they will work first.

well i own creative's webcam 3 USB and I can run my cam w/ win2K. That's actually because of a trick: i use omnivision's *Dual Mode USB Camera* drivers for my webcam3 and it will work! I only hope creative will release
some 'real' drivers some day..

The Philips USB Webcams work without any problem at all. They work with built-in drivers great.

I use the Intel USB Camera III that comes in the Intel Pro Pack. The camera was recognized and works fine with the Win2000 built-in drivers, but so far, I have no software that records video. I know the camera works because I can use it in NetMeeting.
