Which is better on a 30G HD: 2 or 15 partitions?

This is a discussion about Which is better on a 30G HD: 2 or 15 partitions? in the Windows Software category; I am a gamer and want to know if hard drive access will be better if i split my 30G hd into, say: 5- 6G partitions or 15- 2G partitions or 1- 2G for windows 1- 500M for swap 1- 27. 5G for apps and games I think you see where i am going.

I have run my hard drives with many partitions and no partitions and i have never noticed a performance increase or decrease when changing between partitioned and nonpartitioned drives. Get RAID if you want to boost your performance. I am amazed at how fast my games load on this old 500 Mhz Dell.

I have 2 drives:

Drive 1: 46GB Maxtor UDMA 100

C through L(exluding D)

Drive 2: 15GB IBM UDMA 100
D, M through P

varying sizes...the less than 1GB leftoever partitions make good swap space(P), or CD-backup(L)
