Whistler Beta 2 + G400 + OpenGl = 60 Hz

This is a discussion about Whistler Beta 2 + G400 + OpenGl = 60 Hz in the Windows Hardware category; Hi, Whistler has a built in driver for the Matrox G400 graphics adapter, i have set the refresh frequency to 85Hz, but it drops to 60Hz when using openGl and to 75Hz when using Direct3d. I installed the win 2000 G400 drivers - but they also don't allow setting a higher refresh rate.

a Gf2 mx 400 with 64 megs of ram that seemed to install just perfectly. All ram was being seen via the native driver XP installed. A few hours later I went to play Sacrifice and wanted to make sure of the driver that was installed and lo, what was showing 64 megs after 1st boot was now showing only 16!!!

I messed with drivers for a few hours and then the new 12--whatevers came out and they seem to do the trick even though those drivers only show my vid card as having 32 megs instead of 64. With a beta OS all kinds of stuff can happen I guess hehehehe

In any case, the OS) is rockin now and all games (thus far) seem to be jammin'
