Yes I am running W2k prof on a Toshiba Satellite pro 490 xcdt and it installs and works smoothly and without the slightest problems.

Look through the Toshiba homepage, they have a section describing the functionality/probs of their notebooks under W2k for each model. (But you will have to search around for quite a while - at least I had to)
