Win2k won't install programs...any suggestions?
This is a discussion about Win2k won't install programs...any suggestions? in the Windows Software category; I am running win2k pro final and for some reason everytime i try to run a setup. exe for any program it doesn't run. when it runs the install shield to begin setup it will get to 99% and just sit there, causing me to end task on it, or install shield won't even start, but when i check my processes setup.
I am running win2k pro final and for some reason everytime i try to run a setup.exe for any program it doesn't run. when it runs the install shield to begin setup it will get to 99% and just sit there, causing me to end task on it, or install shield won't even start, but when i check my processes setup.exe is running. i think it may have something to do with the wowexec.exe. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know because i really would like to be able to install programs .

Patience. Wait for 5 or 10 minutes after starting SETUP.EXE...
I had same problem, now I log in everytime as Administrator and evertyhing installs great (at first I have account with administrator rights but it didin-t work)
