Windows 2000 Professional Login Problem with 2003 Server
This is a discussion about Windows 2000 Professional Login Problem with 2003 Server in the Everything New Technology category; I have a network of 20 Quad boot PCs and one 2k3 server that is AD/DNS/DHCP. My XP OS connects and logs into the domain fine but 2000 professional says it cannot find the domain when you try to login at the CTL-ALT-DELETE login screen.

My XP OS connects and logs into the domain fine but 2000 professional says it cannot find the domain when you try to login at the CTL-ALT-DELETE login screen. Here is the funny part. The 2000 machine does join the domain, I can see it in the MGMT console on the server, its just that the 2000 machine won't let any domain users login.
I checked all the rights for the user and everything is fine in terms of priveleges. Also there are no typos in the domain configs.
Thanks

First check Network settings:
a) Make sure Client for MS Networks is installed
The Computer Account is visible in AD Users and COmputers
(and not crossed out)
c) That TCP/IP settings are correct, DNS is pointing to your 2003 DNS server.
d) No strange GPO settings are applied restricting access
