Windows 2000 reports formatted drive as unformatted

This is a discussion about Windows 2000 reports formatted drive as unformatted in the Windows Hardware category; After having to reinstall windows 2000, my D: drive show up in windows 2000 as unformatted and won't let me use it. has anyone seen this? anyone have a fix?.

Not quite the same but...
 
 
I had this after formatting a partition (1GB) for the pagefile to reside on. The format finished. I rebooted and Win2k could not access the drive at all.. I just reformatted. Worked okay second time. Maybe Win2k has a problem up[censored] the vtoc sometimes?
 
BTW: This was without SP1. It could be fixed .
