wmp11 on win2k

Hi, This is my first post, so apologies if this is the wrong section of the forums or I'm not allowed to ask this. Basically, I use Windows 2000 and am perfectly happy with it, and don't want ot upgrade unless I have to.

Hi,

This is my first post, so apologies if this is the wrong section of the forums or I'm not allowed to ask this.
Basically, I use Windows 2000 and am perfectly happy with it, and don't want ot upgrade unless I have to.
But there's a couple of web sites that when I try to use them it says I must have WMP11 and I can only go to WMP9.

So,
Has anyone ever managed to get WMP11 installed and working (even if only partially) on Windows 2000?
If not, could anyone suggest how I go about trying, as there's no .msi file to edit with Orca?
Is there any way with regedit I can fool the installer into thinking I'm on XP?
Is there any other forums where you think people might know this?
Or is it just impossible?

TIA

Supposedly the Known Dlls Wrapper will do it:

Don't know what the procedure for installing Media Player 11 on 2000 to use the wrapper files would be though.
