Icons not arranged in correct order

My desktop icons can't arrange themselves accordingly by name. After the IE shortcut, comes 3dmark, Acrobat reader, fifa 2001 and then quake 3 arena. In the second column (i only have two columns filled), comes quake 3 team arena, then ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, and the rest in order.

Shutting down "idle process" in win2k??

Is there any way to disable the idle process in Win2k? I have a AMD Duron, and everyone knows that programs like CPUIdle and so on doesn't work on Durons, so i guess the process in win2k doesn't either, as my idle temp lies around 44C, and my full-load temp is 46C.

Floppy Disk Scan at Startup

Every time I start Win2000, the computers scans the floppy drives, I have two 3. 5 drives, does anybody know how I may disable this option?.

Heya! I'm fairly new to Windows 2000, I have a nice BeOS desktop theme but I can't seem to install it! Also, I don't know how to set 'blank screen' as my screensaver, since it's not selectable in the menu.

I have 768mb of ram on my Win2k system, is there a way to make a ramdisk? I'd like to set my swap to a ramdisk or run applications off a ramdrive for fun. . . . thanks, gimp.

Ok. I just re-install Windows 2000. . but noticed first later that the installation installed a new Win2k copy on e:\ instead of overwriting the c:\ copy of Win2k. How should I move the e:\ copy to c:\ and use only c:\ as Win2k directory? Hope you understand all that 🙂.

I have a problem. I changed gfx-card with my brother from a Geforce256 to a Geforce 2 GTS. Everything worked fine till I tried to shut down the machince. The sign saying that win2k is saving your config.

Is it possible to install NT wkstn 4. 0 from a floppy, I can't set my BIOS to boot from CD? Also I have accidentally deleted a suspend-to-bridge oartition on my laptop, keep getting prompts to run susdisk.

Ok. . when you boot win2k pro. . You must first press Ctrl+alt+del to get to the login prompt. Where in the Registry is that so i can enamble it again. . . For some reason MY install of Win2k Pro did NOT install this feature.
