Same Updates Keep Reloading

Fortunately this is not happening to my OS but to my roommate who is using the XP OS. The last several times she has turned her computer off the automatic update service wants to load five updates. It has done this approximately ten times now and always five updates so something is definitely out of kilter.

Euro symbol and Outlook Express 6

It was always my understanding (perhaps wrongly so) that the Euro symbol is typeable in Outlook Express by using the right-hand Alt key together with the 4 key. Currently, I have OE6 SP1 and, yes, the text window certainly produces the Euro symbol when those two keyboard keys are used.

USB DEVICE DROPS OUT

Can somebody help me please? I'll start with some history, i'm using a fairly old pc (running xp sp3) which recently got the 'antivirus 2010' virus. tried to remove it and failed. So i reset my pc back to day 1 via the system discs that came with my pc.

Router keeps disconnecting internet

I hooked up Netgear Wireless G rounter to desktop that has windows vista so that we could use laptop also and when I hook the router up, everything works great for a little while then we can't get online unless we unhook router.

Unable to disable network adapters [XP]

Hey This is a wierd problem I have encountered just now after I stopped using windows 7 RC and changed back to windows xp (dual-boot). In Network Connections I am unable to disable any of the adapters by choosing the 'disable' function.

WIN XP problems with login

Hi I have a problem with the login screen of my xp machine. Here is the scenario: I lock my machine using win+L or switch user then sometimes it wont log me in, even if I enter the correct passowrd it will say wrong password.

Hi everyone. I downloaded some mp3 music on my Xp Pro Sp2 laptop. Then i saved it on a enxternal WD 1TB Storage, after that i connected it to my Windows Vista laptop and tried to listen to the music, but then i receive a message saying this file is from another comp.

Corrupt Profile in XP - docs missing

A user last week rebooted her machine to finish applying the MS monthly updates and found that everything in her profile was gone. . . everything. All of her favorites, desktop items, program listings, all of it was gone.

Need to recover NTFS partiiton. How?

A guy fdisked a drive(ntfs) and it turns out it has years of photos on it he would like to get back. How can I recover the partition? No data has been written to the disk since that time. Program suggestion to o it would be appreciated.
