Master Broswer error in Win NT Server 4

oshie
In the event viewer on Win NT 4 Server there is an error with a Win2000 Pro workstation saying that there is a Master Browser error, and may require an election. Is there a way to tell the server that it is the master browser or tell Win2000 Pro to stop conflicting?.

RemotelyAnywhere and ICS

kgeissler
Does anyone use RemotelyAnywhere? I am trying to get it to work through ICS and am not having much luck. I have the port mapped, but it can't seem to connect to my box. I have 1 computer as my ICS/Firewall computer and my 2nd box on my home network.

DSL / Router questions....

FakeMcCoy
I have cable right now, and I'm getting sick of it. I'm thinking of moving to dsl, but I'm a little confused on a few things. One package the dsl company offers allows you 4 IPs for your dsl modem. I was also thinking of getting a router so I wouldn't have to keep one machine on all the time.

BNC/AUI?

Down8
OK, I know what BNC is, but what is AUI?Everything I've found talks about BNC vs. UTP, not AUI. The reason I ask is this: I am setting up a network between two computers , and the hub I have is an old generic 8-port with a switch on the back that goes between BNC and AUI.

I am curious about this question I got asked during Win2k Server edition installation: Max. connection per license or per seat??? (I don't remember the exact words) and the default was like 15 and I changed that to like 50.

Printer sharing on home LAN

psklenar
Okay, I've got a home LAN (behind a D-Link DI-704 broadband gateway - aka: router & firewall). I've got a W2KPro workstation as my main system and two laptops - one W98 and one WNT4. I've got file sharing working among them just fine.

Router + bridge = DSL sharing over HPNA?

GHackmann
I currently have a Southwestern Bell DSL connection that I want to share over my home network. Since I didn't want to rewire the whole house, I bought HPNA phoneline adapters for all of the computers.

Win2k AdvSer ICS

beamrider
OK, here's the situation. One box is running W2k AdvSer. I have 2 NIC's in it. One goes to the cable modem, the other goes to a Linksys 5 port switch. Second box is running W2k Pro. It has 1 NIC in it, connected to the switch.

ISA Ethernet adapters dont work!

Manos
As I connected to LAN the first time with win 2K it didn't work at all. Tried out two different types of ISA cards and it didn't work. It wasn't untill I replaced it with a PCI D-link card, that I got it to work.

How do you share DSL connection to 6 computers?

whoisurdaddy
I was wondering if you have 6 computers, how would you setup to share the DSL connection? I have D-Link Router + Switch (DI-704) and it has only 4 ports so only 4 computers can share DSL connection. I have one computer running Win2k Server edition and the rest are running Win98 SE.
