Hi, the Share tab in Windows Explores seems to be gone. I can't enable share, doesn anyone know how to make it appear again? I have all the require protocols and services installed. . . thanks in advance.

Help! have a laptop with built in network card, Win2000 Pro. It has suddenly lost the network, network icon and protocolls. Network card functioning. How do I reinstall the network in Win2000, without having to reinstall the whole operative sys? Thanks, Amber F.

Hi, Running win2kpro. I would like to share my files over network, but sharing option does not show up when right clicking on any file or drive, however printers and modem can be shared, what am i missing to enable file sharing, any help appreciated.

ICS and File/Print Sharing

Ok, I am setting up a small permanent LAN with the main system being a Windows 2000 based system. The other 2 systems will be Win 98SE and Win ME. I have tried and tried and maybe I am missing something, but I have no clue as to how to get 98 or ME to see the shared files and folders off a 2k system.

I don't know if anybody knows about this, but you can access your terminal server in Win2K with this page. Bear in mind that 3389 still has to be open/forwarded to the server, but it works well. Regards, clutch.

Access NT4 box from Win98 box

Due to limited knowledge (newbie) I cannot access my NT4 files from my Win98 box, due to a 'Enter Network Password' prompt. I have tried all my passwords and get a message 'The password is incorrect.

Hi, I have Internet Connection sharing enabled in windows 2000. The internet works perfectly on other computers. But I am not able to use MSN Messenger Talk or Netmeeting, or Phone Dialer. How to make them work.

I'd like to know if I it is possible to create an user account in W2K that only last for the time I specified? We sometimes have different people using the PC and we'd like to restrict the access so they can only access for so long.

Sorry to double post, but not sure where to stick this one and get an answer: Here at work they decided to install SMS 2. 0 (SP1). On all our Win98 machines, when our logon scripts run, if not now, it WILL happen eventually - the systems lock up.

I had NAT up and running. Then I decided to swap out the LAN NIC. Now it doesn't work and I can't access NAT through the Routing and Remote Access snapin. My local computer has now got a big ol' red X on it in the snapin.

I was wondering how well 2 100Mbit LAN's connected with each other through a 1000Mbit optic fibre cable, use the bandwitdh of the optic cable. If each LAN is connected to the optic cable via a switch that supports a 1000Mbit connection - will this solution be any better than by connecting the 2 LAN with STP cable ? ...

Win2K Pro and Network Printers

I have a HP4500 using a DLINK printer server. If I try to connect to it from Win2K Pro it asks for a *. inf (unknown) I point it to the inf file that comes with the driver on HPs site but it errors saying driver is not for this device or can not be accessed.
