NT4 Backup Domain Controller...

I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server acting as a primary Active Directory DC, now I want to make my NT4 Server a backup DC but I can't. . . I install NT4 and select backup DC. . . then I create a computer account in Active Directory for my NT Server.

Scripts using NT4 Server and win98se stations

I am setting up a small network consisting of 13 win98se computers and 10 win95 computers. I have tried to use system policies and scripts on the win98se computers and had luck finally with policies with help from clutch.

Win2k Network Neighborhood

I've noticed a problem that I've been having w/ win2k networking. I'm currently on a LAN at school and have trouble browsing the network. For some reason, everything works fine for the first 3 minutes after I reboot.

I'm running a lan with 3 comps, which all use zonealarm. My network consists of: client for microsoft networks, file and print sharing, tcp/ip, and ipx/spx. I'm running a 100base network. (all of my comps are using identical network cards) My windows 98 machines have no issues at all.

VPN issues

First let me say thanks to clutch for helping me out on my last few threads. Appriciate it. Now that we have the network stable, we are trying to add in VPN. The VPN server is also a NAT router. Routing and Remote access closed off alot of ports, specifically the ports that Inet/Mail/FTP ran on.

im using a NT4 Server, with multiple Win2k-Clients, after a while the Win2k Clients seem to disconnect the network connection, and the networkdrives (I:,H get a red X on the icon. . . . i tried a registry fix from the MS Knowledge Base, but that didnt work,.

I imagine Microsoft made more of an effort with the TCP networking code in Advanced Server than they did with Professional, and it shows as my throughput is always much faster in Advanced Server, but it begs the question, if they have this high speed ability in Advanced Server, why hamper Pro?
