Ok. . . here is the deal. I have a Handspring Visor, with a Visorphone. I setup my Win2k box to accept incoming connections. I go to my visor, under prefs>network and dial my box. The phone rings, my pc answers, but after about 30 seconds of trying to handshake, I get a single beep (sort of like a heart monitor ...

Has anyone done USB Networking in Win2K?

Christianb
I was wondering if anyone knew how to use their USB ports to network two PCs? Do you have to get a special cable or does any old male to male cable simply work? Thanks in Advance, Christian Blackburn

Hi, I've got a friend who has two PCs both running Win2kPro SP2, both hooked into a 10baseT hub, which is in turn hooked into a cable modem through its uplink port. One computer is a Duron 900Mhz based system with 384Mb RAM, while the other one is a lowly K6-2-400Mhz with 128Mb RAM.

Problem accessing 98 box from 2000 box

ShawnK
Hello. Am trying to share files/folders between a 98 and 2000 machine. I had it working with 98 on both, but once I upgraded one to 2000, it now wants a password to connect to the 2000 box. Whenever I try accessing the 98 box it shows it in network neighborhood, but when I double click it, it says not available.

need help, behind LAN port block! [please read]

shassouneh
Hi All, I'm on a college network. Recently, they have blocked all TCP/Ip ports EXCEPT port 21 and port 80, thus blocking all file sharing services such as Kazaa and Morpheus with it. Is there a way I can work around this? If so, How? Please note that I don't know too much about networking.

Why I use Windows for routing...

Cloudane
I was playing around with Gamevoice today, after installing WinXP on our home networking server. I hadn't realised Winroute wasn't compatible with XP yet, and ended up using the built-in ICS. Lo and behold it worked! Multiple people behind the ICS were able to join one peer-hosted Gamevoice session, something that ...

Win2k sees XP, XP doesn't see 2k...Help!

Brian Frank
Okay, I'm stumped. I've got to use NetBEUI at home, so removing it is not an option, unfortunately. My Win2k rig can see XP across the network, but it's not working vise versa. It did work in Beta 2 and RC1 (never tried RC2).
