I am sure this has been answered here before but I was just wondering how one would go about removing an entry that doesn't belong in the add remove programs applet anymore because for one reason or another the program is allready uninstalled.

Just curious what people know of out there. I have WinMX which is an enhanced napster that allows sharing of vids and pics too. . . Then I just got bearshare which is an awesome gnutella clone, and from what Ive seen in gnutella clones, it takes a huge leap forward.

Win2000 SP1 installation

I've just upgraded my Win200 installation to Service Pack 1 via the 'download modified files only' option on the MSFT W2K website. The files were downloaded into c:\winnt\servicepackfiles\i386 and automatically copied into the appropriate directories.

I am going to set this computer up very soon with W2k, probably Voodoo5 5500 AGP and the rest that is in my signature. Can someone tell me the best setup method for this? W2K first? What about flashing the bios or Via drivers? Thanks if anyone that has this motherboard and running W2K can let me know.

Hi Guys, I installed Live Ware! 3 and after that all the sounds are related to MSN messenger are gone. It just beeps when someone logs on and. . . Same with Netmeeting and others. . Is there a way to restore that.

win2k setup -raid

im trying to setup win2k with raid support, so i run the setup by booting from the cd, then press f6 to load my raid driver, but when i press s to specify my driver it gives me this message an unexpected error(0) occurred at line 962 in d:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\oemdisk.

added 256 megs of ram now computer periodiclly reboots

After adding 256 megs of PC133RAM with my 128mPC100 my computer will reboot spontaneuosly, i have crash dumps disabled so i dont get the blue screen when it would dump the memory. Anyway I just want to know if there is a solution to this problem at all that anyone knows of.

Which is better on a 30G HD: 2 or 15 partitions?

I am a gamer and want to know if hard drive access will be better if i split my 30G hd into, say: 5- 6G partitions or 15- 2G partitions or 1- 2G for windows 1- 500M for swap 1- 27. 5G for apps and games I think you see where i am going.

Netscape 6.01 freeze

I am running Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 1. I installed Netscape Communicator 6. 01 a few days ago, and periodically experience a 'freeze' with a hundred percent CPU usage when I have more than one Netscape window open.
