As you know the KT266 chip had a severe bottleneck in the memory department. The 8KHA+ is coupled with the new KT266a Chip which significantly improves the performance and memory throughput. With the new chip comes a new and improved heatsink fan combo for the north bridge. This singular addition shows that EPoX does consider the overclocker's wishes. With stock northbridge cooling I was able to reach 182FSB on my 1.33 AYHJA T-BirdRead more

OC Addiction has posted a review on MSI's flagship KT266A based motherboard.
Yes. Memory benchmarks are where the KT266A chipset with DDR memory shines. These scores are very impressive and what you should expect when making the jump to newer technology. If there was ever a question on whether or not to upgrade to the DDR platform, that question should be answered. The MSI with the KT266A chipset is showing significant memory performance gains over the Abit KT7A with the KT133A chipset. And moving the FSB from 133 to 150 and then 155, these memory scores are approaching orbital status, nearly doubling those of the KT133A stock memory scores @133FSB.Read more

Before we get to the LED display which has probably caught your attention take a look to the left. Abit has put a power and reset button right onto the mother board. This is one of the best features I have seen on a motherboard to date. It's great for me testing a lot of boards, it is a pain to hook up the power and reset buttons all the time. Often I test boards without a case and use a screw driver to touch connection to power on and reset the board, these switches make it a lot simpler.Read more
