The agreement specifically covers both companies' intellectual property for Android, Chrome OS devices and Xbox gaming consoles. The deal will see Dell pay royalties to Microsoft for products running the Android or Chrome platforms.

Horacio Gutierrez, corporate vice president of the Innovation and Intellectual Property Group at Microsoft, said the patent deal will stop unnecessary patent disputes between the two companies, saving them both valuable time and money.
