2019 entry-level MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and Touch ID Review

Last week Apple pushed out a couple of updates to the entry-level MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. The MacBook Air update included a new lower $1099 starting price along with True Tone Display support.
The MacBook Air update was nice, but the refresh to the entry-level MacBook Pro, which hasnt received an update since 2017, was far more compelling. The new entry-level MacBook model comes with refreshed internals, Touch Bar and Touch ID support, and features the same $1299 base price.
Touch Bar support is nice, but the most impressive thing about this refresh is its speed, thanks large in part to the 8th-generation quad-core CPU that replaces the dual-core CPU on the previous iteration. The update makes the entry-level MacBook Pro well worth considering, even for those who felt the previous model was too underpowered for their needs.
Watch our hands-on video walkthrough inside for the details.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Review

Is this AMD's best all-round chip? We find out. Been a busy few weeks, hasn't it? AMD released a tech jamboree at the start of the month, headlined by all-new Navi-based Radeons and six Ryzen 3000-series CPUs touting the latest Zen 2 architecture and 7nm production.

On launch day, we took a look at two higher-end parts seeded by AMD - the Ryzen 9 3900X (£480) and Ryzen 7 3700X (£320), and both offered a decent performance uplift over their predecessors.

Though impressive, their asking price puts them outside of the volume mainstream market. This is where the Ryzen 5 duo comes in. We've got our mitts on the Ryzen 5 3600X, retailing for $250 (£240), so let's take a closer look.

Cooler Master Masterliquid ML240P Mirage AIO Cooler Review

With both Intel and AMD know offering consumer processors with more cores, good cooling has never been more important. It goes without saying if you’re running processors with six or more cores, you’ll get the best performance out of your processor with water cooling. However, many people are still intimidated with custom water cooling. For this reason, a large portion of the community opts for AIO or all in one coolers. All in one coolers can give you far better cooling than your average air cooler. They are also easier to install than a custom loop and less prone to leaks. Although it seems these days, every company under the sun make AIO coolers, not all coolers are made the same. Some are better than others. Many, less informed consumers may just walk into a Microcenter, Fry’s or even Best Buy, and grab the first thing they see on the shelf. Then there are the enthusiasts who do their homework, read the reviews and make an educated decision on what’s best for their use case. These are the people who end up with a Cooler Master AIO cooler in their systems.

The makers of the legendary Hyper 212, Cooler Master know coolers. Every since they started with their MasterLiquid series of coolers, Cooler Master has released some of the best AIO coolers in recent memory. We recently did a review of the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R, and it performed very well. In this review, we’ll be testing the latest cooler in the MasterLiquid line up, the MasterLiquid ML240P Mirage. So, we pushed an I7 8700k as far as we could on the ML240P Mirage to see how this cooler stood up to the Aida64 stability test. So, Is the MasterLiquid ML240P Mirage the next Hyper 212? Or is it just another AIO liquid cooler with RGB lighting?

Not So MMO: Not So MMO: Killsquad Hands-On Preview

Novarama's Killsquad hits Steam Early Access today. The game is described by developers as a co-op action RPG, but also has hints of an adrenaline-filled MOBA -- a sort of hybrid of the two in its way. Regardless, my time spent in Killsquad was fun, fast and furious.

Zotac's RTX 2070 Super AMP Extreme is priced only $10 higher the NVIDIA Founders Edition, yet offers a much better triple-slot, triple-fan cooler, and also includes an overclock out of the box. During gaming the card stays quiet, yet manages to beat Founders Edition temperatures at the same time.

Today we'll be putting the new ZOTAC RTX 2070 SUPER Twin Fan through its paces to see if it can offer much over the NVIDIA Founders Edition.
