A Look at RX Vega 64 Efficiency

This has definitely been an interesting project for me, and one I am very glad I decided to do. Of course the surprising results of Killing Floor 2 made it worthwhile, but so too do the results for both Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, just in different places. Across all three games we saw a noticeable drop in power use when undervolting and not limiting the frame rate, or using a high limit. This reduction in power use is important as it improves the efficiency of the RX Vega 64 and it allows increased clock speeds with the reduction of thermal throttling.

Antec P6 Compact Micro-ATX Tower Review

It may be larger than your "typical" micro-ATX cases but thanks to its size the brand new P6 Compact Tower by Antec offers enough interior space for pretty much anything you'd ever want to equip it with.

Whenever a friend or family member asks me what PC case to get for a new system i always advise them to leave that for last since i think it's very important to know exactly what hardware components you will place inside. For example if you end up getting a mini-ITX or micro-ATX sized mainboard there's no reason to get a regular midi tower with enough room inside for a full sized ATX mainboard (something similar happened some months ago with a friend who first got a mini ITX case and afterwards tried to fit an micro-ATX mainboard inside). Of course since the largest consumer market share still belongs to ATX sized mainboards there aren't nearly as many micro ATX sized towers in the market today and so when Antec announced their brand new P6 Compact tower we just had to take a closer look.

BenQ EW3270U Review

The HDR craze continues to heat up in the PC display market, and while some manufacturers are aiming at the high end of performance and price, BenQ is targeting a much more attainable price point with the recent launch of the EW3270U, a 32-inch 4K HDR display.

The EW3270U touts support for HDR, FreeSync, and both DCI-P3 (95 percent coverage) and sRGB (100 percent) but its relatively low price of $699 means that buyers can expect some compromises. We tested the EW3270U to find out if its performance and limitations were worth the price, and discovered a display with very good color accuracy that may be just what mid-range 4K buyers are looking for.

BenQ Zowie XL2546 e-Sports Monitor Review

It seems like many monitors are being marketed to consumers as "gaming monitors" with their flashy RGB lights, curved screens, and impressive specifications, but are these the type of monitors you want if you are a serious e-Sports player?  From what we've gathered, probably not.  Most professional e-Sports players do not use super large displays, curved screens, or even high resolutions.  They are more concerned about performance and functionality.  That is where the BenQ Zowie XL2546 e-Sports monitor comes in.  This 24.5-inch TN panel had an HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 320 cd/㎡ brightness.  On top of that there are gaming-focused features like Zowie's Dynamic Accuracy technology, Black eQualizer technology, an LCD frame that was designed to reduce light reflection from the screen, and even shields on the side of the monitor to eliminate distractions.  Is this the ultimate monitor for the serious e-Sports player?  Read on as we find out...

MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC AMD Ryzen Motherboard Review

MSI's X470 Gaming M7 AC has a lot going for it with Precision Boost 2. It's gaming and overclocking focus makes for a compelling option in a competitive sea of motherboard options for AMD's new Ryzen processors. It has performance and looks as well, and a bit of subtle RGB if that is a checkbox you require.

Micro Star International or MSI as it’s more commonly known was founded in the latter half of 1986. The company is based in Taiwan and has a presence in over 120 countries worldwide. An interesting fact that people are generally not aware of is that MSI’s first product was and overclockable 286 motherboard. This goes to show how overclocking and performance have been a part of MSI’s focus from the beginning. Fast-forward 31 years after its founding, MSI continues this proud tradition of performance and innovation. The company now has a purely gaming focused product line. It also sponsors eSports tournaments and teams as well as hosting its own events.

MSI has a diverse product portfolio. The MSI product line includes laptops, desktops, monitors, motherboards, graphics cards, VR equipment, and computer peripherals. While MSI’s focus is clearly on PC gaming, it does have some professional and workstation-oriented products as well. MSI also has its Dragon collection products. This includes a couple of backpack options and an MSI Dragon plushie and "lego."

Patriot Burst 480GB SSD Review

Patriot Memory is a brand that has been around for over a decade, and a brand I have had some personal memories with. My first custom build was done with a Patriot Sector 5 DDR3 kit years ago. And while they might not have the name recognition of Corsair or G-Skill they have been around as long and do provide products with great customer support and warranty.

With the fuss about SATA SSDs dying down over the past few years and NVMe M.2 drives becoming all the rage the coverage for cheaper SATA based solutions has gotten quiet, a little too quiet as many still use the standard 2.5 inch SSDs for their main OS drive or a secondary SSD when their high-end NVMe drive gets a little too cramped. If you play a lot of open world games or multiplayer games, sometimes the speed of an NVMe drive is excessive but an old school HDD is just not enough. With the prices of NAND memory going down so has the price on larger sized drives, and larger capacity drives like this one are in a much more affordable price range.

Roccat Horde Aimo Review

A middling keyboard with a promising wheel. Most PC gamers are advised to get their hands on a mechanical keyboard. It's sound advice, as nothing beats the precision of a mechanical key, but while a distinct actuation point and n-key rollover can be beneficial to enthusiast gamers, there are downsides. Mechanical keyboards tend to carry a premium, and if you've never used one before, you might be surprised to find how loud they can be during use. So what do you do if you want a gaming keyboard without all the clicky-clacky noise?

Roccat reckons Horde Aimo is the answer. Priced at £90, this intriguing keyboard employs so-called "membranical keys" that claim to offer "the perfect compromise between membrane and mechanical."

Zyxel Multy X AC3000 WiFi Mesh System Review

Zyxel Communications Corp. has sent Benchmark Reviews a sample of their new “Multy X AC3000 Tri-Band WiFi System” for review. The name may be a mouthful, but this system purports to provide easy setup and consistent performance across large areas with a “mesh” system that connects multiple routers via a dedicated channel. With a quad-core Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of flash storage, the Multy X routers should be capable of all the performance a home user could need.
