Phoronix: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT Linux Gaming Performance

As announced back at CES, the Radeon RX 5600 XT is being launched as the newest Navi graphics card to fill the void between the original RX 5700 series and the budget RX 5500 XT. The Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics cards are beginning to ship today at $279+ USD price point and offers great Linux support but with one last minute -- and hopefully very temporary -- caveat.

LanOC Reviews: ASRock RX 5600 XT Phantom Gaming OC

This year at CES, AMD had a few different big announcements, one of which was on the GPU side where they introduced their latest GPU the RX 5600 XT. The RX 5600 XT falls in between the original Navi RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT cards and above the RX 5500 XT that launched not too long ago. This is AMD filling out their Navi product stack. Well, today's the day, the RX 5600 XT is available and with that, we can also finally look at the cards and their performance. AMD sent over the ASRock RX 5600 XT Phantom Gaming OC for mt to take a look at and in addition to being excited to see how the new GPU performs I am also excited to get my first look at an ASRock video card. I’ve used many of their motherboards in the past, but it wasn’t until 2018 when they introduced their first cards. So I’m curious to see how they compare with the competition while I also see how the 5600 XT fits into the market.

TechPowerUp: ASUS Radeon RX 5600 XT STRIX TOP Review

The ASUS Radeon RX 5600 XT STRIX TOP uses the same cooler and PCB design as the RX 5700 XT STRIX OC, which makes this a massively overbuilt design. Thanks to a 10-phase GPU VRM paired with low voltages, the card is actually more power efficient than NVIDIA's Turing lineup.

Sapphire's RX 5600 XT Pulse comes at $289, which is only a small $10 premium over the AMD MSRP, yet it's faster than GeForce RTX 2060. The card's cooler does a great job and delivers good temperatures paired with amazing noise levels, and it has fan-stop, too.

Anandtech: The AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT Review, Feat. Sapphire Pulse: A New Challenger For Mainstream Gaming

While at this point we’ve pretty much reached the “mid-generation” point in the GPU space, that doesn’t mean activity in the GPU market is slowing down. Indeed, just three weeks into 2019 and AMD is already up to bat with a new video card, the Radeon RX 5600 XT. Announced a couple of weeks back at CES 2020, the Radeon RX 5600 XT is AMD’s answer to the $200-$300 mainstream video card segment, and is designed to be their ultimate 1080p gaming card. And of all of the AMD RX 5000 series video card launches in the last six months, it’s quickly shaping up to be the biggest fight yet between AMD and NVIDIA.

When it comes to choosing a new graphics card there are two clear schools of thought. On the one hand we have the all singing and dancing, bells and whistles, auction your first born child cards which can run almost every game at 4K with all the detail on. These are the kind of cards which companies use to demonstrate their new game, or manufacturers like to show off in the advertising in the same way all car adverts show the deluxe model with every option.
