Bloatynosy 1.02.142 "Shelf" with an OEM debloater and a plugin system
Bloatynosy, builtbybel's long-running Windows debloater, just gained one of the features users kept begging for. The new build, version 1.02.142 "Shelf," arrived October 25, 2026 from developer Belim, and it can finally uninstall the bloated desktop programs that laptop vendors dump onto new machines.
Debloating is the art of stripping Windows back to something bearable. You have OEM software to deal with, namely the trial antivirus, the demo games and the vendor utilities that makers install for a cut of the revenue. On top of that sit Microsoft's own defaults like telemetry and the occasional Candy Crush. You can do it all by hand via the Registry or PowerShell. It works, sure. It also reliably bricks your install.
Bloatynosy has lived in that space since January 2023, when Belim shipped his first-ever release. It racked up over 7 million downloads before he stopped counting, a number most single-developer tools never come close to.
An actual debloater, and actual plugins
The older builds mainly touched registry settings and Store apps. Version 1.02.142 now reads classic Win32 desktop programs too, pulling from the same three uninstall locations the Control Panel uses.
The tool splits the signal from the noise. It names real bloatware targets: McAfee, Norton, Avast, AVG, WildTangent, Booking.com, ExpressVPN, Keeper, CyberLink, Nitro PDF, WPS Office and Candy Crush. Then it locks down the parts you'd actually need. Visual C++ redistributables, .NET runtimes, Intel chipset and Management Engine drivers, plus Realtek, NVIDIA and AMD drivers stay unclickable.
Nothing comes preselected. Uninstalling a program triggers a second confirmation, because removing an app is a different decision than flipping a setting. Windows has no genuine undo for an uninstall, Store or classic, and the README says as much.
The structural centerpiece is the new plugin system, which the developer calls "a text file and nothing else." Install a tweak pack by dropping an .ini into the data folder. Delete the file and it's gone. No installer, no registry entry, nothing executed.
"You can read the whole thing in Notepad before you trust it," Belim writes. The two sample packs live at Plugins/Packs/Gaming.ini and Plugins/Packs/Privacy.ini, for what it's worth. A few tweak entries use a <deletevalue> marker that tells the tool to nuke a Registry value outright instead of setting it to zero or one.
Keep in mind that the self-updating catalogue is exactly where the previous "Origin" build fell flat. A Settings button now fetches fresh tweaks straight from the repository, so a one-line fix reaches you without a full reinstall.
A long, winding road back to simplicity
Belim has been on a bit of a journey with this tool, and he's not shy about it. There was a dark "Noir" concept, an AI bloatware filter called AppMatrix, a BloatynosyAI spin-off and a doomed "Winpilot" web-app era that got shut down. He even pulled a version out of the Microsoft Store before bringing it back.
The October 9 "Origin" release was a retreat to something plainer. "Everything I built after that added more and solved less... None of it ever beat version 0.85, which was one window, a list, and a button," Belim says. "Nobody else was going to bring it back, so I did."
Shelf feels like the payoff of that trip home.
It's free and MIT-licensed, which sets the bar low. It still ships on the older WinForms framework despite wearing a WinUI-style skin, though that's beside the point. The look is the goal. The real caveat is the catalogue itself. Windows shuffles registry values with every build, so a tweak that works today may go quiet tomorrow. Belim's advice if something doesn't stick is to open a GitHub issue with your Windows version rather than assume the tool broke.
You need Windows 10 or 11 and the .NET Framework 4.8 to run it. It starts as you, not admin, by default, so machine-wide changes may want a right-click "run as administrator." And because the OEM debloater is brand new, its uninstall targets haven't yet been stress-tested by the community the way the older settings have.
