Battleborn PC Game Analysis

Battleborn came out earlier this month and while its launch may have been overshadowed by the Overwatch open beta, this might not be a game you want to let fall by the wayside. Gearbox’s ‘hero shooter’ is quite different from the likes of Overwatch and Team Fortress in a number of ways, with some unique game modes, vibrant characters and a campaign mode but how does it hold up on the PC specifically? Let’s find out!

Creative Sound BlasterX H7 Review

Some time ago we took at look at the BlastX H5, and we were pleasantly surprised by the all round quality that it provided. The H7 expands on the H5 in that it is the digital v7.1 variant that is supported with various Creative technologies that can be adjusted in the software.

At a glance, the H7 has the similar high quality construction to the H5 with the 50mm drivers, steel headband/ brushed aluminium parts, memory foam padding, removable noise reducing microphone, however, there are some subtle changes that differentiate it from its sibling. First, the aluminium holding the earcup to the headphone is anodized black. Second, The H7 is semi-modular with the DAC hard wired to the headset by 400mm of braided cable. Lastly, to take advantage of that USB power, there is a subtle red LED lighting effect that pulsates. As the H7 has both digital and analogue connectivity, it can be used on pretty much all platforms.

Gamdias Hermes RGB

Some of you might have seen Gamdias as a sponsor at our last event or maybe at a few of the other events as well. While I’ve seen their name around I haven’t had the chance to personally check out and of their products. So when they offered to slip in their Hermes RGB keyboard in with our LanOC V18 box I took them up on the offer. We have had a LOT of RGB keyboards in the office at this point so that itself isn’t unique but I was excited to see what Gamdias has going on. So for the last 3 weeks I have been testing and using the Hermes RGB for all of my writing and gaming to find out how it performs in both situations. Read on as I take a closer look at its features and then dive into its performance.

Intel Core i3 vs. i5 vs. i7: Which One Do You Really Need?

The processor is the brain of a computer but understanding the difference between processors requires a lot of brainpower of your own! Intel hasnt made it any easier for customers with their strange naming schemes, and the question we get asked most often is: Whats the difference between an i3, i5, or i7 processor? Which one should I buy? Its time to demystify that. In this article, we wont be touching on Intels other processors like the Pentium series or the new laptop-centric Core M series. Theyre good in their own right, but the Core series is the most popular and...Read the full article: Intel Core i3 vs. i5 vs. i7: Which One Do You Really Need?

NVIDIA Quadro M2000 Review: Affordable Maxwell Pro Graphics

A few weeks back, during its GPU Technology Conference, NVIDIA announced a new Quadro-branded graphics card for the professional workstation market. That card is the Quadro M2000 we’ll be showing you here today. The Quadro M2000 is a low-power pro graphics solution featuring a GPU based on NVIDIA’s Maxwell architecture. In fact, it’s the very same GPU used on one of the more mainstream GeForce GTX-branded cards.

The M2000 has 768 CUDA cores and 4GB of GDDR5 memory, linked to the GPU via a 128-bit interface. If some of those specs sound familiar, it's because they're similar to the GeForce GTX 950. Both the Quadro M2000 and the GTX 950 are built around the GM206 GPU, though the Quadro has a few more tricks up its sleeve to be sure...

UK system integrator aims to be become the gold standard in turnkey liquid-cooled PCs. PC Specialist has established itself as one of the UK's premier system integrators, and having built up an extensive catalogue of custom laptops and desktops, the Wakefield-based outfit is now looking to become a first choice provider of liquid-cooled gaming rigs.

The firm announced such plans back in April with the launch of a new range of machines under the Liquid Series banner, and to get a better feel for what's on offer, we have in for review an LS-M01 base unit priced at £2,299.

Phanteks Eclipse P400S Case Review

Phanteks jumped into the case market not that long ago and since then has really made a name for themselves. Their Evolv series happens to be one of my favorite case series to date. Many Phanteks’ cases sit in the mid-range in terms of price. They typically sit in the $100-$200 range, which is fine for most enthusiasts, but no everyone is going to spend that on a case. Phanteks knows this and has launched the Eclipse series. Right now it is comprised of two cases, the P400 ($69.99) and P400S ($79.99). Today we will be taking a look at the P400S, which is the silent version of the case so it has many sound-dampening features. The case also has room for long graphics cards, water cooling support, easy installation, and lots of room inside. Let’s jump in and see what the Eclipse P400S is all about!

V-MODA Zn Earphones Review

As an audio enthusiast, I love to share with other people the experience of amazing sound. About half a year ago, my friend and I were talking about audio products. Since I knew she was the kind of person who knows how to appreciate a pair of good headphones, as in not anything that rhymes with "heats" prescribed by a certain doctor, I decided to lend her my V-MODA XS for a week to try out. I am not going to reiterate my love for the XS here, but if you read my review as linked, you will find out the product in question is the highest scoring product here at APH Networks at the time of writing this review. Seven days later, I saw my friend, and inquired of how she liked it. She thought it was really good, but when I asked her if she would like to return it, since a week has passed, she conveniently said she "forgot" it at home. While it may be entirely possible she actually forgot my XS at home, I think she just wanted to keep it for a longer time, because they were really that good. Now, we have covered quite a number of headphones from V-MODA in the last few of years, such as the Crossfade M-100 and Crossfade Wireless in addition to the XS. However, what was missing in my V-MODA collection were a pair of new flagship in-ear monitors like the Vibe II I reviewed back in 2009. Sure, there were a few products of this category from the company that came in between we never reviewed, but none of them were real flagships from them anyway. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the drought may be ending. Today, we will take a look at the Zn, the latest flagship IEM from V-MODA. For $180 at press time, will the Zn be a continuation of the company's signature sound that, if you were given the chance to borrow one, you would also "forget" it at home when it is time to return it like my friend? Read on to find out! (Also, I did eventually manage to get my XS back.)
