NVIDIA released GeForce Hotfix Driver 610.82 on July 22, 2026, addressing stability issues for GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs in Halo: Campaign Evolved just days before its July 28 launch. The patch also resolves intermittent DX12 pauses during extended sessions in Path of Exile 2, building on the Game Ready Driver 610.74 base. This out-of-cycle update is distributed exclusively through NVIDIA's Customer Care support site and carries no WHQL certification, meaning it's provided "as-is" with abbreviated quality assurance. If you're a Blackwell owner planning a day-one Halo session, this targeted fix may help smooth out your experience before the next certified driver release.

NVIDIA Hotfix Driver 610.82 Targets RTX 50 Stability Ahead of Halo: Campaign Evolved Launch

NVIDIA released GeForce Hotfix Driver 610.82 this morning, and the timing is hard to miss. The driver addresses stability issues on GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs in Halo: Campaign Evolved just six days before the remake hits stores. There's also a fix for Path of Exile 2 dealing with intermittent pauses in DX12 mode.

You won't find this package on the public download center. NVIDIA is distributing 610.82 exclusively through its Customer Care support site. The company describes the build as "beta, optional and provided as-is," meaning it skips the abbreviated QA process that full Game Ready drivers get and carries no WHQL certification.

"The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver," NVIDIA's documentation notes. "But we know that many of you are willing to try these out."

The hotfix is layered on top of Game Ready Driver 610.74, which shipped alongside DOOM: The Dark Ages back in May. The jump from the 595.xx branch to 610.xx signals a significant shift in the driver stack, likely tied to the architectural changes required to support Blackwell-era hardware.

Halo and Path of Exile 2

The primary fix targets what NVIDIA internally flagged as stability issues with Halo: Campaign Evolved on RTX 50 cards using the 610.xx family. With the game launching on July 28, this patch looks like a targeted intervention based on early testing or significant user reports.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the 2001 original built on Unreal Engine 5. It's also the first Halo title to appear on PlayStation, breaking a quarter-century of Xbox exclusivity for the flagship series.

The second fix addresses intermittent long pauses that can occur during extended Path of Exile 2 sessions in DX12 mode. The issue suggests a resource accumulation problem in the driver's DX12 implementation path. This matters given the game's massive player base and heavy reliance on DX12 optimizations.

If you're running an RTX 50 card and plan to launch into Halo on day one, grabbing this hotfix could save you from a rocky start. You can download the driver via the NVIDIA Customer Care link associated with KB article 5870.

Keep in mind that hotfixes are removed once their fixes merge into the next official release. If you miss the window, you'll have to wait for the next Game Ready driver, which should include these fixes in a more polished package.
