ADATA SP610 512GB Versus Corsair Force LX 512GB

Solid-State Drive (SSD) have been steadily growing in capacity and thanks to improvements to the manufacturing processes the price of NAND and SSD controllers has been falling at an impressive rate. This means that fairly large SSDs are now fairly affordable and something the for the average consumer can justify purchasing. 240GB and 256GB SSDs are the most popular capacity sold today, but there has been a number of budget friendly 480GB and 512GB drives that have come to market in recent weeks. Today we’ll be looking at two 512GB SSDs that are focused on the value segment of the market; the ADATA Premier SP610 and the Corsair Force LX.

ALLONE Cloud Disk Drive 101 RAMDisk Review (32GB)

It’s not every day that we see an SSD that makes us stop and think. After our trip toComputex (http://thessdreview.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3d9b6193ffd32dd60e84fc74b&id=602cb40f23&e=312ec141fb) , we were able to take delivery of something that is fairly unique in terms of enterprise storage. The ALLONE Cloud Disk Drive 101 RAMDisk is not your normal SSD, in fact, it really isn’t an SSD at all. Technically speaking, it is a battery backed, PCIe-based RAM disk. RAM disks are nothing new. They have been around as long as we can remember.

Antec HCP-850 850W Power Supply Review

The recent appearance of 80 Plus Titanium certified power supply units (although not really that many in number) has finally forced manufacturers to perform price cuts on their Platinum and Gold certified models so it's not really a surprise that lately some of you have asked us to also focus our reviews on the best Platinum models currently in the market (we would had done so either way eventually). A few months back we had the latest HCP-1300 (High Current Pro Platinum 1300W) power supply unit by Antec on our test bench and as some of you may recall it was without doubt one of the best units to ever pass from our lab (not to mention one of the most highest output ones to date). Since the HCP-1300 isn't however the only model in the High Current Pro Platinum line by Antec we decided to also test its two smaller brothers and so today we will start with the lowest output model the HCP-850 850W PSU.

Antec, Inc., is the leading global brand of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) markets. Founded in 1986, Antec is recognized as a pioneer in these industries and has maintained its position as a worldwide market leader and international provider of efficient, quiet, and reliable products. Antec has also achieved great success in the distribution channel, meeting the demands of quality-conscious system builders, VARs and integrators. Antec’s offering of enclosures includes a large range of cases, such as its technically advanced Performance One Series, cost-effective New Solution Series and server grade cases designed for the needs of all workstation and server markets. Antec’s products also include front line power supplies such as its TruePower Quattro Series and EarthWatts, the most environmentally friendly power supplies available. PC gamers are an increasingly significant consumer of performance components, and many Antec products are geared toward the gaming demographic, like the Nine Hundred, the premier gamer enclosure. Antec also offers a computing accessories line comprised of many original products, including its patented LED Fans and Notebook Cooling solutions. Antec is headquartered in Fremont, California, with additional offices in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, as well as in Germany, China and Taiwan. The company’s products are sold in more than 40 countries throughout the world. Please visit www.antec.com for more information.

The HCP-850 is a 80 Plus Platinum certified fully modular power supply unit (future-proof thanks to the 20+8pin MBU socket) capable of providing 850W of continuous and clean power thanks to its high quality components (such as Japanese capacitors) and full suite of industrial grade protections which include the over current protection (OCP), over voltage protection (OVP), under voltage protection (UVP), short circuit protection (SCP), over power protection (OPP), over temperature protection (OTP), surge & inrush Protection (SIP), no load operation (NLO) & brown-out protection (BOP). The HCP-850 also features 4 +12V rails which can output the full 850W of power and up to 40A on each rail (along with the other rails the HCP-850 actually has an peak output capacity of almost 1KW). Of course Antec covers the HCP-850 with their excellent seven year warranty which along with its future-proof design should prove to be very useful.

BlackBerry Q10 Review

If any one number could be considered lucky for BlackBerry, it would be the number 10. Their release of the BB Z10 full screen smart phone was followed a short time later by the Q10 with its physical keyboard; both of which contain the totally redesigned BB 10 OS. All of this occurred during the year that Blackberry was hit the hardest, both financially and in the press. The number 10 not only served as a safety net for BlackBerry, but also, it just may be the good luck charm needed as stock numbers are so close to a 52 week high at the time of this report.

EVGA Tegra NOTE 7 & ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T Review

Portable computing devices became a staple in the daily life routine of millions of people around the globe. Cell phones, tablets, laptops, and lately smart bracelets and watches are everywhere. If you have any doubts, just hop in a bus for a couple of stops! Not so long ago however, the performance of smaller devices was barely cutting it for basic tasks, usually limited to emails, browsing and "primitive" gaming. Today, portable devices are improving in raw power, battery life, and accessibility. As a result, we witnessed a spectacular shift in the portable gaming industry, partially caused by the Android OS popularity among users and manufacturers.

NVIDIA, known mostly for its graphics cards, did jump in the portable computing bandwagon with the Tegra SOC lineup. Back in 2009, the Microsoft Zune HD was the first Tegra based product. Five years later, Tegra based modules can be even found in the sexy Tesla Model S cars. Another notorious product is NVIDIA's own SHIELD, an Android gaming device built around the Tegra 4 SOC featuring a clam-shell design that integrates a console-grade controller. With the SHIELD, NVIDIA proved that not only can it put together a solid product, but also cleverly integrate it in a gaming ecosystem.

Today I will be looking at two tablets devices that are also powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 SOC. The first unit is a 7" device designed by NVIDIA and manufactured by EVGA, hence the EVGA Tegra NOTE 7 name. Marketed mostly to gamers, this tablet comes with an impressive feature set for the $199 MSRP asking price. The second tablet is the latest member of the Transformer Pad lineup from ASUS. It's a high end tablet that comes with a hefty $449.99 price tag, but sports one of the most beautiful displays I've ever seen in a portable device.

Gamdias Aegis Gaming Set Review

It is rare that I get a product through the post to review and have to spend a good few minutes figuring out just what it is. That is what happened this week though when I got my first look at the Gamdias Aegis gaming set. It turns out that it is a USB hub and headset stand that sticks on to the side of your monitor. Bizarre? Perhaps. Unique? Certainly.

Patriot STELLAR 64GB USB/microUSB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive Review

I can't say that I will really use the drive just for my phone or tablet in such a manner. I'll likely use the drive in exFAT format and use it as a typical flash drive on the go. However, the microUSB is the key bonus to this drive all around. I couldn't really find too many other drives out there with similar capabilities that weren't either massive in size, or well, really just massive in size. Small and on the go are two words meant to be together.
