Microsoft has rolled out Windows 11 Build 22631.5984 (KB5065790) to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel running Windows 11 23H2 (Build 22631). This latest update brings several key improvements and bug fixes across various areas.
In terms of authentication, a significant issue has been resolved that caused the Windows sign-in screen to freeze after users entered their SIM PIN during sign-in using mobile broadband connections. This should provide a smoother experience for users who rely on these connections.
Additionally, the update addresses some long-standing issues related to country and operator settings, specifically regarding country and operator settings assets. Certain mobile operators will now have their profiles updated, ensuring that users receive the most accurate information when accessing available networks.
Furthermore, there are notable improvements in the display kernel area, where an issue affecting display configuration changes during Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions with multiple monitors has been resolved. Specifically, this update addresses a problem that could cause the system to shut down unexpectedly when disconnected from a docking station during a streaming session.
The input functionality has also seen some much-needed improvements. Some characters failed to display correctly when using the Chinese Input Method Editor (IME), but this issue has now been fixed. Additionally, certain Chinese characters appearing as empty boxes in text fields, such as those used in the Connection Manager Administration Kit, have also been resolved.
The printer functionality has also received attention, with an issue addressed that prevented users from viewing the printer queue in Settings for shared printers without causing the Print Queue user interface to fail.
Lastly, the update resolves an issue affecting the McpManagement service on Windows. This service was previously appearing without a description on Windows, which has now been fixed.
