To get MM VII working on XP, I found you had to turn off ALL the 3D options, Audio and Graphics in the Setup menu, doesnt look as nice but hey, its a great game anyway

I tried these 3 steps, but I still cant get the game running. I get an error every time I try running the game. Though I never got all tree changes at once, because if I set sound acceleration to none I can no longer disable 3D sound in mm7setup. Its grayed out.

if you right click on the desktop icon after you disable all the options in the config tool that comes with the game, and select properties then hit the compatibility button and select win 98/Me and apply the game will then work fine without any problems.
