While Microsoft currently offers a full range of mice (gaming, ergonomic, portable, etc.) their specialty has always been general use equipment. These are items that work well under almost any circumstances but are not designed with a specific purpose. Most often these are found used in the home or office environment, but some are able gamers or have other strengths. The WLM 8000 is a high-end version of the general use mouse and is not much different from a few of Microsoft's other mice. It has upgrades- like a laser sensor, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rechargeable base- but is fundamentally the same.
