While Serial ATA, or SATA, is now readily available, many of us aren't just going to toss our current hard drives that have a decent capacity and still work. However, thinner cables are nice. They look tidier and can help to improve airflow in your case. Having said that, you can always go out and buy some rounded cables. I keep hearing how cheap these are, but local shops charge $20 USD and while they are running $10 or less online, you still need to figure in shipping most of the time. I run a number of drives in my PC's, and the though of spending $100 or more on new rounded cables isn't the most exciting prospect for me. I don't know about you, but I have other things I'd much rather spend that money on...such as bills or other computer hardware.
