StarTech USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA Enclosure with Encryption Review

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 08/26/2012 09:47 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Computing on Demand has posted a new article on the StarTech USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA Enclosure with Encryption

Today's need for protecting data has been encouraging many manufacturers to develop and deliver products that can keep your data with you and protected. As we see more data services experience security breaches, like the recent Dropbox breach, it seems that the best way to keep your data safe is to keep it on you at all times. The drawback to this is that if someone steals your portable storage device or you leave it on the subway, someone now has access to all of this data! StarTech thinks they have the answer by delivering the S2510BU3PW - a 2.5 in. Encrypted Hard Drive Enclosure.

With the introduction of the S2510BU3PW, StarTech is delivering a portable solution that can transform any 2.5 in. SATA hard drive into a 256-bit AES-encrypted external hard drive. The enclosure doesn't require any software installation and handles the encryption in real-time ensuring all the data on the drive is encrypted and protected from unauthorized users. Access to the encrypted data is achieved through an integrated touchpad, allowing the device to work on virtually any hardware. If your system supports USB, you have access to your encrypted data.
