Missing Windows 2000 Recycle Bin

domain controller upgrade from winnt4 to win2000 - best route?

We will be needing to upgrade our domain servers from winnt4 to win2000 in the near future as winnt4's life is coming to an end. Win2000 because we've always had it (did not install it for the longest time) and win2003 cost $ and is not needed.

I have win2k and just run a spyware removal tool. Ad-Aware. I thought some settings may have been permanently damaged so I over installed the same OS. I still have all my original programs but now I get a message that I do not have enough memory to run certain programs.

Hullo! I've had some problems with my acer laptop for some time now. I suspect the fan for the cpu is broken or at least not fully functional. The machine simply shuts off at will at random intervals.

How do I use Norton Ghost when my hard disk is dual-booted

I've got 2 hard disks hard disk 1: windows 2000 + red hat 9 (use GRUB as boot loader) hard disk 2: windows xp + unused space (enough to install one more operating system at the unused space) Is it possible for me to 'ghost' JUST the red hat 9 from disk 1 to 2?? Problem Installing XP on a Serial ATA Drive

I recently purchased a Maxtor 200 GB Serial ATA drive and a Silicon Image 3112a PCI controller card. I am able to get the computer to see the drive, create partitions, and install Windows XP on it. However, when the machine reboots after installing XP, nothing happens.

DVD CD-RW won't burn CD's (for a NEC VERSA LX notebook)

Hi all. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give. I just got a DVD CD-RW drive (part no. OP-270-73502) for my NEC VERSA LX notebook running W2K. It plugs in right where the old CD-ROM used to be, so there are no issues with cables or anything of that sort.

What I need is pretty simple I think. I need a program or batch file that I can setup to ping our vpn three once every 6 hours or so. It would be ideal if the results could be in a log of some sort, but it's not required.

I have a network of 20 Quad boot PCs and one 2k3 server that is AD/DNS/DHCP. My XP OS connects and logs into the domain fine but 2000 professional says it cannot find the domain when you try to login at the CTL-ALT-DELETE login screen.

Windows XP Default Cursor Color

Just wonder if there is a way to change the default cursor color under XP or not, mainly when using some forums, especially vBulletin ones, that allow you to change the styles/schemes and such. Some of them look great but the cursor basically disappears and I can't change the color.
