Cannot open serial port Com1

When I try to open Com1 to download to another device, I get a message that says Can't open serial port access denied. Can anyone help me with this problem.

i upgraded my computer about a year ago from 2. 6ghz to 3. 0ghz and from 256ram to 512ram. they had to replace my ati 9200 because of the motherboard they got me to support the 3. 0ghz and gave me a geforce4 mx 4000.

Hi, I have currently have windows XP on my 4 year old pc that has a 20Gb hard drive, this does not work particularly well and over the years has gotton a lot of corrupt info on it. I have purchased a brand new windows XP sp2 and an additional 120GB hard drive.

When ever i try to run yuri's revenge the screen goes black then it closes immediately and then gives me a send error report message, im using a windows xp, with a fully updated nvidia graphics card, it works on my laptop though which is also windows xp, if anyone has any ideas on whats wrong with it or how to fix ...

I have a Win XP machine (version 2002, service pack 2) w/ Internet Explorer 6 (service pack 2). Everything was fine. Then, I loaded Norton Internet Security 2005, and during the installation got a warning messages indicating a conflict between XP's and Norton IS's version of some html file.

Intra-Galactic Battles - PC Speaker sound prob

This is a very old Star Trek clone DOS game that uses PC speaker for sound and each time you fire your weapons it freezes (supposed to make a sound then). I tired turnning it with VDMS sound for dos and it does the same.

Unique problem with Nvidia MX4000

I have this unique problem (at least i think it's unique) with the 3D FUZION GeForce MX4000 card. I got this cheap card just because it has a tv-out port and it was cheap ($49) and installed it on my spare computer (i used this PC just to download movies) everything went smooth until i tried to play avi files.

Dells Proprietary components?

I have a dell 4550 (crap machine but hell i got it for free) and i have just moved it to a new case. The motherboard has standard ATX mounting holes and standard ATX 20pin power supply connector, but the front usb, and power switch ports are on a weird 20pin(give or take) ribbon cable connector.

I have the latest ATI Catalyst 5. 7 drivers installed on my system and they work flawlessly! I ran the Microsoft Antispyware program as I regularly do and lo and behold this Trojan. 93 appeared as a severe security rating.
