RJ-45 refers to a type of adapter/cable/jack in LAN terminology. My professor told us that this is strange because true RJ-45 does not apply to any form of LAN wiring or architecture. He then offered somebody in the class the opportunity to write a paper on the low down of RJ-45 what REALLY is it?.

I just installed win 2k so i am asking a basic question. Where do i go to take off some of the programs that run upon startup? Not the startup folder, but the same type of thing like msconfig in 98. Thanks alot.

I'm having trouble with my Creative Geforce Pro on Windows 2000 Professional. I can't run 3D games on OpenGL or Direct3D mode, it will crash or automatically reboot the computer. I have tried playing Counterstrike on Win 2k, but only Software Rendering works.

Hi all, In Win2000, is it possible to configure it in such a way that a screensaver passsword is activated IMMEDIATELY after the screensaver is launched from say, a desktop shortcut or the Test button in the Display Properties section (so that basically it works in the same way as win9x).

192 megs pc100 and Win2k pro: Best optimizations?

Ok guys I have 192 megs of pc100 sdram and I have heard that this is the minumum reccommended for win2k pro. How can I best optimize win2k pro given my amount of ram? Celeron 300a@464 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1.

Ever since I set up the LAN I have been able to play both IPX and TCP/IP games through the LAN with no problems. However, if I am using the server computer for work and someone tries to set up the client computer to play a game, people outside the LAN can not connect.

Hibernation problems with Abit BH6

Hi! I got an Abit BH6 motherboard with the newest Bios (QN) and Win2K intalled. My problem is if I turn off APM in Win2K, hibernation mode works fine, but the computer doesn't automatically power off.

Where is the reg entry for the win2k taskbar?

I enabled the Nvidia Quick Tweak icon from the display properties to be loaded in the taskbar upon boot. But when I restart, its not there anymore. I have to add it again. Can someone help me? thanks.

Running an Abit BH6 with ACPI enabled, and latest Bios. Just installed windows, and im having some problems with the sound card drivers (Aureal Vortex 2) The applications crash out with an error The instruction at (address) referenced memory at (address).
