Conversion to NTFS Problems

I have a 10gig drive with 2 partitions, both are FAT32, b/c I was going to dual boot and wanted to be able read evrything. I've never installed Win9x though, and don't plan on it, so the last time I reinstalled Win2K, I formatted C: in NTFS.

For my network, I would like to a)disable registry editing b)set a default and uniform background for all clients c)disable access to control panel. In winnt 4. 0 this was done through the system policy editor.

Problem with DMA Mode...

I've selected the option 'Dma mode if available' but when i reboot the change does not occur. I know for a fact my hardware is supported in this feature, is there any way for me to force dma enabled?.

Descent 3 - horrible performance

T-Bird 800 256MB PC133 RAM W2k Pro w/ SP1 Geforce 2 GTS SB Live Value Descent 3 hovers around 30-50fps and stutters wildly in some places, which is odd cuz I can get twice the FPS on my P2 333/V3 3000.

Dogz 4 doesn't work

I have Dogz 4 installed at Windows 2000. But if I start it, after a minute Dogz 4 doesn't work anymore and I must close it. 8) What can I do to let it run. It's alo runs much faster then normal, all those Dogz run like crazy.

New VIA/Win2k M$ patch

Well the new patch seems to have fixed the crashing with the Optimal (AGP 4x) setting on my ASUS A7V motherboard. I've been running the machine for many hours now and no more crashes in games and stuff.

startup programs (systray?) loads slow

I dont know the english word for the startup items loading in the systray ? (volume, graphicscard icon etc etc) Upon starup, everything goes very fast, until the systray is suppose to load, then the system halts for about 10 seconds before the icons appear.

WinME, how to get rid of Restore folder?

Hey guys, I know how to disable the Restore feature, but how can you delete those little files thats in the Restore folder along with the folder? When I try it wont let me. .

NHL 2001 - Quick game only, no tournament mode

Dear all, I just went to pick up EA Sports NHL 2001. I know the box doesn't say Win2000 supported but I decided to take a chance because the demo ran beautifully. I install the game and run it with absolutely no errors.

Any known issues with dualbooting winME and win2k?

I dont know if this is just bad luck, but ever since i started dual booting win2k and winME, my win2k partition has been acting up. It seems that just about every week i have to reinstall win2k because of win2k files getting corrupted.

Hi Everyone, I recently got a Asus Geforce 2 MX. System Configuration: PIII 450 Via Pro Plus (AGP 2X) Windows 2000 Professional Nvidia 6. 31 official drivers. 96MB SDRAM Now, I dont get a good performance in games like UT, SOF.

Refresh rate in Games why???????

Why is it, that in playing games in windows 2000, that the refresh rate always resets itself to 60mhz? When I play games in Win 98 its fine, but windows 2000 always goes to 60, why is that? I have a Elsa Geforce 2 video card and a P3 700 with 256 megs of ram.

NT Login problems

I brought my laptop home from work so I could transfer files to my desktop so I removed the domain name and changed the workgroup name to match my home network. Now I can't login. I need help so I can get in and change the domain name back.

Ok I'm going to try to explain this as good as I can and then anyone can give me opinions on what the problem could be. I just upgraded to an athlon thunderbird 800 with an Asus A7V motherboard and 128 megs of ram PC 133.
