When I try to run winquake or glquake it says it's not a valid win32 application. Dos quake doesn't work either. Quakeworld do work. Both software and GL. But I want regular quake! Winquake or GLquake! Anyone knows whats wrong?.

Also, I was wondering if anyone succeded in getting the Pentamedia Pent@NET reciever card to work - certified by Europe Online, but the site only says drivers for Win9x and NT, and Linux ...

Hi, I have an Ericsson SH-888 mobile phone with a built in GSM modem and infra red port. With Win98 on my laptop it worked fine, but now with win2000 (RC3). Bringing the phone into range and win2k detects it and says SH-888 in range, but I have no way of adding the modem to the device manager, e.

TNT2 Opengl Refresh Rate

I can't seem to control my TNT2 opengl refresh rates, specifically in q3. Regardless of what I set the desktop refresh to, in 1024 for example, q3 will run at 60hz. any suggestions? Oh, and a big shout-out to chameleon for making it possible for me to get this far in the first place.

Major Problems with RC3?

W2k RC2, Voodoo3, Quake2

After clean RC2-2128 install, I installed Quake2 and all the patches, but it looks like crap! I select 3dFx under video option and it bombs back to software. This really sucks. I downloaded & tried to install the latest driver from 3dFx, but it wouldn't install.

where do i get setup.exe for win2k RC3?

i just downloaded what was suposed to be win2k rc3 (build 2183). i extracted it and all i got was a directory called i386. where is setup. exe??.

dual processors help???

i am runnung beta 2128 and i have two 350 processors in at the same time on a dual board. however, win2000 is not detecting the second processor, is there someway to activate it. need help???.

Has anyone figured out a hack to get Q3demo to run under RC3 with a V3???? The hack that worked with 2128 appears not to work with 2183. Thanks.

Has anyone got it to work in RC3 with Liveware 3? I followed the instructions that Anthony put together - none of the setup files would work properly from the web downloadable NT drivers - they just sat in memory and hung.

I searched for the v3wn4. exe file like the instructions said, but I tried just extracting the archive and having win2k search for a driver in that folder, and it found the driver for the 2000/3000. I installed it, and it seems to work! I haven't seen any problems.

Ok, I had rc2, worked fine. Opengl, DirectX , and all that other crap had no problems. . . Now I upgraded to RC3, and OpenGL is not present or will not install, I do not understand the full installation under 2000.

Getting rid of hiding menu items

This isn't really a compatibility post, but it seems there are people here that really know Windows 2000 so I will ask: Is there any way (i. e. registry setting or otherwise) to turn off the annoying feature where menu items are hidden and only the recently used ones are shown.
