I am on a intel celeron 366mhz , 128mb of ram ,and a 8. 4 gig HD its sorta slow you know. But i was wondering if there is anyway to speed up win2k pro on my computer? i know the bootup and shutdown is always slower but i mean like in win2k itself.

Acer 310U Scanner problems

Hello, I'm running Win2K professional edition. On Windows9x the system was able to detect my Acer 310U USB scanner correctly. But on Win2K I try to install the default drivers from MiraScan and they don't work, when i go to device management section it says that the driver is not properly installed.

Does anyone know how, if you can, set Windows NT4 to manage the virtual memory? Activision, the maker of the game told me the reason I keep getting the error message saying that my system is running low on virtual memory, is because I need to let NT manage my virtual memory.

Hi, I am having problems with AGP4X. Everything works fine in 2X mode but as soon as I turn to 4X, the Direct3D hardware test doesnt work and computer hangs. I have to restart and go back to 2X mode.

Hiya I've got some trouble with my network. I'm connected to internet via lan and get my ip(and gateway, ect. ) from a dhcp server. Well the problem is downloading larger files. Suddenly the network stops responding and to fix the problem i disable the network and enable it again.

ARRGGh i have screwed up my pagefile somehow,i keep getting low virtual mem errors i reset the pagefile to say 196 and 196 and reboot and get the whole thing over again at bootup i have booted to the cd and did all repairs from recovery console already no help there cannot find pagefile.

Problems with sound in win2k

Hi, I've got some weird problems with sound in Windows 2000. In general windows apps, everything has a reverb/echo/ambience effect, which is very annoying. There is a similar effect in games, only on some it makes everything sound stuttery, like it is replaying sounds over themselves.

Lo all I recently installed win2k + sp1, dx8 and the critical updates, only 2 find that after 10-20mins of playing a game (no matter wot game) the system resets itself Im using detonator 6. 31, have Asus K7M with 256meg, have been and tried the fixes @ geforce faq.
