I know Ive seen something about this before, but how does the V3 work under XP? I know that it runs right off the bat w/o drivers until you do gaming, then you need drivers. Will the 1. 04 drivers work?.

Need a list of what ports to allow under TCP/IP filtering

Guys. Under my cable connection settings in network properties I have allowed tcp/ip filtering. What I do need however, is some help with which ports to allow. There are settings there for TCP ports, UDP ports and IP protocols.

Hi all, sorry to bother you but i was wondering if anyone new how to solve my problem. Oks here goes I have a dual boot machine with 98 and 2000 previously had no troubles and loved it. Recently i installed a virus scanner halfway thru scanning it crashed.

Just backed up using xcopy32 and it copied all the files over the 8 chars long with the ever so annoying ~1. I really dont have a problem with this, but i have about 5 gigs of mp3z that look like this.

I've read the previous posts about this bsod, but my case is different. This bsod pops only when i try to copy files from one hard drive to another. My boot hard disk is a 15gb western digital BA (ata66), NTFS formatted, and the other drive is ata33, seagate, and fat32 formatted.

My computer was reformatted today after trying XP for a while. W2K right now. the thing won't shut down, or restart after the blue screen for shut down, there's a blinking cursor, and it just stays there with nothing happening.

get the ie6setup. exe file downloaded and make a batch file with this in it ie6setup /c:ie6wzd. exe /d /s:#E then save the bat file in the dir where ie6setup. exe is and run the bat file this will allow you to download the the ie6 setup files for 9x or win2k or nt 4 to disk without having to install it right away.

Installing Take Two with the new updates from Roxio

Ok here is my initial plan: Do a fresh install of Win2k Install Easy CD 5 (custom) and choose to NOT install Take Two software. After sucessful install I will apply the update to 5. 01 Then I will put the install disc back in and install Take Two.

WinXP Beta 2 2462 & 3dmark2001 no go

When I run 3dmark2001 benchmark it will return to the desktop before running the 2nd game test in high detail. I have heard of other people having this problem and no one seems to be able to run it. I have WindowsXP Beta 2 build 2462.

The small file browse that comes up say when you are looking for a new song from within winamp (it's in other places also) has the huge left menu with like desktop my comp buttons and so on, how does one go about removing this blasted thing? Thanks

Defragmenting on Beta2

I tried to defragment my NTFS drive last night. After 30minutes it was only 1% complete - which make me ask: Does defragmenting work at all on Beta2? Furthermore - what about hibernation? It hibernates all right, but freezes during reboot, when the logon screen appears.
