i had a dxr3 wich has now gone up the spout, are there any others out there that i could replace it with? I am not looking for a sigma designs as they cost too much. If not is there anyway to get a software player to output dolby digital through my Live card in windows 2000? and which software would this be? Thanks ...

Just read and downloaded the new SBLIVE drivers that were posted in the news section of this page. . Anyone use them yet? My work machine dont have an SBLIVE, so Ill hve to wait. But Id like to hear if anyone has anymore luck with these.

can anyone get DMA to work i can see the option where it says dma if available but its like it doesnt detect any of my hard drives or cd roms but they all work. dvd is jumpy so im assuming even though i set all of them to dma that it didnt set it proppery btw i have a p3v4x using the via 4.

At last I am coming to the end of my current upgrades. Within the next week I'm going to be very happy with my system as it stands. The final decision needs to be made, how to configure my IDE RAID. I have 4x IBM DTLA-307045 45GB ATA-100, 7200rpm HD's.

Hey guys when will IE6 be released as at the moment its still in BETA and also in WindowsME there is a program called msconfig. exe in the system dir, which allows you to edit the startup files is there a windows2000 built in editor for the startup files? Thanx very much.

Hi I have a question on the QfixApp utility, I noticed it had a solution for a game in it and I think i followed the instructions exactly, I unchecked boxes, added files but when i ran the Game I still recieve Sorry not supported on NT Does anyone have any ideas.

burnt 80 min cds with a file over 700mb

i'm having a very odd problem. i have a movie thats over 700 megs, so i have to use a 80min cd which can fit 730 megs right? once i burn it, there's no problems during the process of burning but when i try and copy the file back onto the hard drive, it hangs at the last 30 or so megs.

First let me say thanks to clutch for helping me out on my last few threads. Appriciate it. Now that we have the network stable, we are trying to add in VPN. The VPN server is also a NAT router. Routing and Remote access closed off alot of ports, specifically the ports that Inet/Mail/FTP ran on.

im using a NT4 Server, with multiple Win2k-Clients, after a while the Win2k Clients seem to disconnect the network connection, and the networkdrives (I:,H get a red X on the icon. . . . i tried a registry fix from the MS Knowledge Base, but that didnt work,.

Need good modem choice for Win2k pro

Ok well my trusty Diamond Supra Express 56i ISA got fried last night in a storm so I need a new modem that works well with Win2k pro. Any suggestions? I want something that is NOT a winmodem, also one that is good with games but also not very expensive.

Problem with an old keyboard...

Hey, I have a somewhat old keyboard, although it is new enough to have the windows keys on it (which I readily removed). The problem that I've been having is that in games like Half-Life, it doesn't seem to recognize more than 3 keystrokes at once.

Okay, help me out here. I got the FOP 38 today, and though it would lower my cpu temp, well it didnt. I put thermal paste on itstuff from Radio Shack. Its the same temp as with the generic orb cooler.

Starting to get a bit confused by the new OSs. While I understand that NT 4. X preceded 5. 0 (whoops Win2000) and that 2000 has some variants itself (ie. . . PRO, etc. ), where does Whistler come in? Is it simply another name for 2000, or an entirely different package?.
