Just got a used laptop, with a Pentium 3 800 and 128 MB of Ram. I installed WIndows 2000 with service pack 2 and all the updated video drivers, but when I try to install any PCMCIA network card it will not let me use it, even if I force it, it has a problem with the card.

Where it NetBeui at?!?!

Mr_Q
So I am trying to do the standard local networking with my two machines. One is Win2K, the other is XP RC1. Now, I usually use NetBeui as it is fairly secure as it is a private connection between two computers and has nothing to do with the internet.

It´s not too early to start comparison-shopping for Microsoft´s new operating system, as at least one retailer has already marked down Windows XP. Costco. com, the Web unit for members-only discount retailer Costco, is taking preorders for the upgrade version of Windows XP Professional for $184.

Philipp

Maximum Hardware has posted a new editorial: First look at IE6 Today was the big day, version 6 went public. Funny thing is, I almost didn´t notice it - I swear I saw a tumbleweed blow by due to lack of news in the industry today.

SBLive + Volume problems

weerin
Well, I am running winXP corporate ed however I have quite a large problem. The amount of volume which the system is producing, is basically none. It is so quiet that even on maximum settings, it is not even 20% as loud as it is in Win2000, and I had the settings all on 25% there.

Where would I go about and look for the place in the registry or wherever that those programs are listed so I can delete it myself ...
