Just got a used laptop, with a Pentium 3 800 and 128 MB of Ram. I installed WIndows 2000 with service pack 2 and all the updated video drivers, but when I try to install any PCMCIA network card it will not let me use it, even if I force it, it has a problem with the card.

So I am trying to do the standard local networking with my two machines. One is Win2K, the other is XP RC1. Now, I usually use NetBeui as it is fairly secure as it is a private connection between two computers and has nothing to do with the internet.

you can install VS 6 first make sure that the setup. exe is compatible with windows 200. . only little problem is that some database dll can't register. . i have tryed it and it works.

Just wondering if anyone new of a file sharing proggy for Win2k. I need to open up the guest account and share files. No problem here, but I would also like to password some of these shared files. I know it can be done by creating diff user accounts but just wondered if there was a simpler program.

Well, I am running winXP corporate ed however I have quite a large problem. The amount of volume which the system is producing, is basically none. It is so quiet that even on maximum settings, it is not even 20% as loud as it is in Win2000, and I had the settings all on 25% there.

WinXP says that it does not detect any HDs. Winxp also says that it does not recognize the udma-66 highpoint drivers I put on disk. I do not have a seperate ontroller card. HELP!!!.

Hi everyone. I have a 3dfx Vodoo Banshee 16 MB video card. Half Life / half Life CS will ONLY work with Software drivers at 640x480. For some odd reason, it will not allow me to use OpenGL (using any resolution) or D3D.

I am having the hardest time ever to get Windows Xp to work properly on our home network. The server is a Win2k box running an intel anypoint 10 mbps and cable connection. The client XP box has the same NIC, but if I install the intel anypoint software the entire OS dies on me.

Hi, I have a 3CR990-TX-95 NIC from 3COM. . . After installing Windows XP Pro, I have had several problems with this NIC. While browsing the Internet the NIC seems to disconnect me, the LED on the switch it is connected to goes out and XP seems to hang for a couple of seconds.

Where would I go about and look for the place in the registry or wherever that those programs are listed so I can delete it myself ...
