I am currently dual-booting Windows 2000 and Mandrake Linux 8. 0 using the Graphical Grub as the boot loading. I need to free up some space on this laptop so I am going to scrap Linux but need to know how to remove Linux and its boot-loader so that just Windows 2000 boots.

I only have one physical COM port (Serial Port), though as you know when you have comunication devices such as PCI modems, they are assigned a COM port number. I am now up to number 10, though i only have one PCI slot modem.

I was running MS Workstation NT 4. 0 (Service Pack 5) and ran the upgrade to Win2k. During installation phase - Installing devices processes completes 75% on progress bar, after modems installed successfully, installation hangs.

Any advise/comment on this issue is appreciated: I have a Duron 700 + Asus A7V computer with 320 mb of ram with Geforce2 GTS plus the ATI TV wonder tuner card. I am planning to upgrade my OS from win98 to windowsXP.

Hi Guys, I was up the BIOS was for new K7S5A and suddenly the computer restarting. . . After that it tries to read from the floppy in the beginning and then start a 2 beep sequence unlimited. I guess it is trying to read some files from the floppy and doesn't find it.

Different XP Networking problem

OK I succesfully configured the XP computer to see the WinME shared and such. The only problem is that the ME computer can't see the XP shares. The XP computer is listed in My Network Places but it cannot be accessed.

Final Fantasy VII works almost perfectly in WinXP, but it's still got some nagging problems. I did a maximum install (with the direct show stuff to run movies) and applied the TNT patch to get D3D working.
