Need RAID expert-----NOW!!!!!

Okay, I have an MSI 694D Pro-A motherboard with the Promise PCD20265 ATA100 controller plus a limited FastTrak BIOS with RAID function. I install Win2k on my hard drive this time and it will boot up fine on the regular IDE channels, but it is seen as a Free drive in the Promise RAID BIOS.

Profile corruption

Again it happended. . after 8 months. When i started xp it said cannot open your profile. . blaa blaa its corrupted All my settings and shortcuts, everything gone! now i aint gonna set everything up again if it does this again in the near future.

Netscape loses, blames MS!

Netscape has lost over half of its market share in the broweser world and they say MS is to blame. I think that Netscape 6. 0 was to blame not MS!!!! And what ever happened to Netscape 5. 0???? Let's just blame MS and all will be fine! Bad NetscapeAOL!, you did it to yourselves with a crappy browser.

Hello everyone, Does anyone know how to force IE to open using a specific window size, or is there a utility that can control this? I run my desktop at 1600x1200, and I do a great deal of web design.

64^C pIII, is this safe?

i've just installed mother-board-monitor 5 on my computer and found that my cpu temp is sitting on 59-64^C when at 100% processor usage! i'm pretty sure this isn't normal, is it safe? i've got a PIII 800 with the standard heat-sync and fan, not overclocked.

Can't force XP to install with ACPI HAL

I'm trying to install XP on a system that I've had for a while but it refuses to install with the ACPI HAL. If I leave the installation then it uses the 'Standard PC' HAL according to device manager.

Can't seem to get this one to work under XP. I have installed the latest updates (1. 7 which gives Win2k compatability). When the game launches all seems fine until you try to start a game at which point it bombs out to the desktop.

Lost control over Dial-up folder

Suddenly for some reason I no longer have any control over my connections. From the folder I can't connect, view properties, make changes, nothing. No error messages but when I click something nothing happens.

Disgusting D3D Performance?!?

It makes me scratch my head in awe. . . Picture Counter-Strike in OpenGL runs with over 100 FPS, I am using a ping optimizing script that limits the FPS to 85 (same as my refresh rate). When I try to run in D3D the FPS drop to 25-30 !!!! Anyone have any idea why? Specs: AthlonC @ 1.

ATA 100 HDD and win2k problems

A few issues with my ATA 100 HDD and win2k with SP2 Via Bus IDE Master does not detect the drive Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in device manager there is only Via BM Ultra DMA channel and Via Bus Master ATA Controller I thought there was suppose to be 3 Poor performance with HD Tach At one stage it was at 22ms seek.

Hi I just wanted to know if its better to use NTFS or FAT32 with a 40GB HD. What do you say? Also it is ATA100, do I have to change something to make it work ATA100 or Windows knows it?? -> Last time I installed a HD with NTFS i got a real problem.

acpi problems in win2kpro

acpi shuts my system down so fast, it doesn't get a chance to save critical system files before it shuts down, results, system registry files system, and software get curupted and have to be replaced in order for system to boot correctly.

I can't get Red Alert to work in XP. I followed the advice on the site to use the DOS installation but that wont work either (not that it should). Anyone got any ideas? I can't beleive Westwood haven't done an XP Patch! This game is a legend!.

I have a problem with my default font at Win2k after I installed the 3ds Max. My default font changed into the italics one. I want to change it, but I do not want to reinstall. It changed at the whole OS level,not only MAX.

Joystick problems

My Logitech Force 3D joystick has developed a glitch. Sometimes it'll send a quick signal that the joystick is farther forward than it really is. (The image linked to below is my running the joystick from its bottom right to bottom left on the test pagethe black line should be all horizontal).
