Until recently I ran a duel-boot setup between Win-ME and Win-XP purely because Rixio's CD-Copier didn't recognise blank CD's on WinXP and the first supported version of Nero killed off my DVD and CD-RW drives from the Device Manager List.

PDC problem

Hi all, I have an NT 4 BDC that was recently got promoted to a PDC status. The previous PDC was demoted and being rebuilt. Here's the problem, Everything works fine the BDC became PDC, users are being authenticated when logging on.

Help - NTFS problems

Hi, I hope I am posting this in the right place. Have a machine running NT4 SP6a. All working fine up until today. I installed ORACLE forms and now the machine will not boot up. From blue boot sequence screen the PC proceeds to the NT desktop page but there is no NT logo.

Desktop icons all screwed up after quiting an application

Is there any way to stop my desktop icons from getting all messed up and out of place whenever i quit a game/app (e. g Q3/JK2/SOF2)? I think it probably happens because i run my games at a lower resolution & refresh rate than my desktop, im not sure.

I WANT ONE!!!!!!! No really, I would actually prefer a stand alone daughter card. But I would love to have valve sound for my computer. One question: If they wanted to make 5. 1 channel valve would they need to use one valve circuit for each of the six channels?.

What are some audio codecs i can get that would play sound on some divx files i have? I have the Radium mp3 codec and it works fine, but i have some avi's that im not gettin any sound from and its showing in the properties that it has sound cuz its showing the audio length and bitrate

I am getting an access is denied error when attempting to access a stripped dynamic drive, can anyone please help as i would like to keep the info on it. After a graphics card burnout that necessitated a motherboard replacement (costly smoky and rather smelly) i have had to reinstall win2k.

I can manage to play all the file types that I've tried in PowerDVD Xp 4, but for some reason I can't get the stills capture function to work with. mp2 files. It will capture stills from. mpg. . wmv, & DivX.

hi, im not getting any sound in. net 3628. dxdiag says that there is a problem with microsoft synthesizer. it is the default sound port, and i cannot change it. if i test with my sound card's port, it works.
